Autodesk have now introduced a nice new feature called GALLERYVIEW system variable which enables you to control whether the Ribbon galleries are displayed.

When the GALLERYVIEW system variable is set to 1 a thumbnail preview will show images of blocks, dimensions, multileader and tables. If it’s set 0 AutoCAD with revert back to the tradition style lists or select dialog box for insert.
